Bible Verses

I know it's been a little while of not posting, but I'm back now.

Lately we have been trying to teach Lena some Bible memory verses. So far she knows, "Children obey your parents." Now it is time to start her on a new memory verse.

I was also thinking that it would be good for me to recite and commit to memory Bible verses throughout the day and weeks. What are some of your favorite Bible verses, or what are some verses that inspire or speak to you, or ones that you think are really just wonderful verses?

Also, what are some short verses that would be good ones to start having Lena memorize?

I love that you are teaching her memory verses! I have several favorites for kids, and several years ago when I was writing our children's worship curriculum I worked them into little tunes--so

"Give thanks to the LORD for He is good, He is good, He is good,
Give thanks to the LORD for He is good, His love endures forever." is to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus." I love that verse because it says so much about God's character.

The kids still remember the verses we sang all those years ago. And so do I! Those Seeds CDs Randy and Anda gave us at Christmas are all scripture put to music too, and they are great.

Have fun!

Memory Vereses are a great way to teach kids. Aaris knows about 12 now and we apply them all the time in situations to teach her.

Here are some short, but good ones:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - Luke 6:31

I can do everything through Him who gives me strenth - Phil. 4:13

Love is patient, love is kind - 1 Cor. 13:4

Then, my favorite verses right now are 1 Johne 4:18, and 1 Timothy 6:6
